My Body for Life Challenge: Day 1
What does it take? Today, physical looks seems to be such a big focus. We go on fad diets only to fall off a month later. I hear of people taking the plunge and making amazing transformation, but only to learn that they got fed up, board or distracted and eventually went back to the way they used to be.
I am going to take a different approach here. I want to make a transformation and make it stay. I think it is essential to have a personal compelling reason why I want to lose the rest of this residual weight and transform into such physical strength, that ZEUS would even give me props. It’s about Not doing it for vanity reasons. Sure, we all want to look good, stay young and be as healthy as possible.
With some major inspiration from few special Facebook friends, I’ve decided to take on the 12 week Body for LifeĀ challenge.
This is challenge is cool because you get to eat six times a day. They are small portions, but hey, I love to eat and even though my portions are smaller, I get to do it six times a day! This challenge holds a good recipe filled with healthy eating, physical exercise and spiritual wellness.
Breakfast was good starting with 1/2 cup of oatmeal, small portion of tofu scramble ( I don’t eat meat ) and a protein shake. It was yummy, I feel a little hungry and that’s ok. I think where I usually get derailed is when I feel hungry. What happens to me when I get hungry, is I get anxious. Hunger for me used to have a negative connection to it, but today I’ve replaced that with a healthier mindset. I tell myself that being hungry is ok and nothing bad is going to happen from being hungry?
Why am I going on about this since I am not over weight or obese? It has to do with a spiritual connection with food. When I would experience that anxiety, I would eat and eat and eat until I over ate.
Over eating was a normal part of my life. When I was excited, I would eat. When I went through some big conflict, I would eat and when I was bored I WOULD EAT. Well, you get the picture.
Today, when I am hungry and I want to run to the cupboard for a snack, I sit still and listen to what I really want andĀ 9 times out of 10, it’s isn’t FOOD!
Let the Chellenge Begin!!!
